Aviva.com provides two types of motorcycle insurance - comprehensive and third party: ComprehensiveLoss of, or damage to your motorcycle, Aviva.com either: - Pay for it to be repaired
- Replace it
- Pay you a cash amount equal to the loss or damage
- If your motorcycle is less than 6 months old , and was bought from new, Aviva.com may replace your motorcycle with a new vehicle of the same make and specification.
Aviva.com deduct an amount for wear, tear and loss of value. The most they pay is the market value of your motorcycle at the time of the loss. If you are paying for your motorcycle under a hire-purchase or leasing agreement, Aviva.com pay any claim to the owner described in that agreement. Aviva.com's liability under the policy then ends. If your motorcycle cannot be ridden as a result of damage insured under the policy, Aviva.com pay reasonable costs for: - Protecting the motorcycle and removing it to the nearest repairers
- Delivering the motorcycle back to your address in the British Isles after the repairs have been carried out
- Accident recovery
- If your motorcycle is not safe to ride after an accident, call Aviva.com, and they arrange for someone to come out and help you.
- If your motorcycle cannot be made roadworthy within a reasonable time, Aviva.com take it to a repairer. This can be one of your choice if this is nearer - although this may lead to delays in arranging repairs to your motorcycle Emergency Medical treatment
- Aviva.com will reimburse any person using your motorcycle, for emergency medical treatment payments they have to make under the Road Traffic Acts.
Your liability to third partiesAviva.com will pay any compensation costs and expenses you may have to pay as a result of you being legally liable for the following: - death or bodily injury to anyone else for an unlimited amount
- damage to anyone else's property for up to £5,000,000 for any or all claims arising from any one incident
Aviva.com pay the following legal costs if they relate to an incident under this section: - fees of solicitors Aviva.com ask to represent anyone they insure
- fees of legal representatives Aviva.com ask to defend anyone they insure
ExcessesYou pay an excess if your motorcycle is lost, stolen, or damaged as shown in The summary of cover and excesses. If your motorcycle is being ridden by anyone under 25 years additional excesses apply. What isn't covered- Items listed in General Exclusions
- Loss of use, reduction in value, wear and tear, or mechanical, electrical or computer breakdowns, failures or breakages
- Damage to tyres by braking or by puncture, cuts or bursts
- Loss or damage directly caused by pressure waves caused by an aircraft or other flying objects traveling at or above the speed of sound
- Loss of value following a repair
- Loss or damage arising from theft while your ignition keys have been left in or on your motorcycle
- Loss or damage to helmets and protective clothing
- Loss or damage to spare parts by theft if the motorcycle is not stolen at the same time
Third party fire and theft insurance
What is covered:
If your motorcycle is stolen or damaged by fire, lightning, explosion, or attempted theft Aviva.com either:- Pay for it to be repaired
- Replace it
